Slow Cooker Bacon-Wrapped Apple BBQ Chicken

Chef in Training's Awesome Dish

When I spotted this dish on Pinterest, I was instantly smitten with it.  I quickly clicked over to the Chef in Training site to see if I could try it on a gluten free diet.

The Original Recipe

Gluten Free Tweak:

This one is easy.  Just be sure to use a gluten free barbeque sauce.  Chef in Training recommends Sweet Baby Ray's, which just so happens to be gluten free according to the label.  If you don't like Sweet Baby Ray's, try Cookies Original BBQ sauce or any of Annie's organic flavors.

Sweet Baby Ray's and Cookies are national BBQ sauce brands you should be able to find on store shelves, though I've had some trouble finding Cookies in my area.  It can be found online.  Annie's is a health food brand that can be found at some stores that have a health food section or you can find their gluten free selections online (see the flavors below).

Do you use another gluten free BBQ sauce?

Gluten Free BBQ Sauces at a glance:
  • Sweet Baby Ray's
  • Cookies Original
  • Annie's Naturals
Annie's Organic Original Recipe BBQ Sauce
Annie's Organic Smoky Maple BBQ Sauce
Annie's Organic Sweet & Spicy BBQ Sauce

Eat happy, you gluten freebirds, you!
